Chip and PIN Implementation

Retailers and point of sale equipment suppliers have invented  the term “Chip and PIN” to refer to the need to install equipment capable of accepting transactions with SMART cards with customer authorisation being completed by entry of a PIN number.

In February 2002, the Association of  Payment Clearing Services declared that payment transactions by all credit and debit cards issued in the UK by their members with an integrated chip card  will migrate to authorisation by PIN by January 2005. With the huge demand for Chip and PIN accreditation this timescale has slipped but the 14th February 2006 is now being advertised as the date which pin entry must be used with pin enabled cards.

Having succesfully installed many Chip and PIN sites, we are now in a position that acceptance testing can take place with a reduced test script, meaning you have a greater chance of having your systems in place for the 14th February deadline.

XSell Chip and PIN is backed up by 7-days a week telephone help desk covering standard business hours. Optional Bank Holiday and Out of Hours Support is available.
